The Handgonne


The Handgonne was the first firearm. It was documented to already be in use during the 1320's. Most were like the design above with a simple tube on a tiller. It was not a true lock per se, rather the gonner held the Handgonne either at his waist or over his shoulder and applied a hot wire or a slowmatch to the open touch hole at the top of the barrel.
